2017 Event Summary

A big thank you to everyone for your participation at our First Annual Atlantic Institute last month in Halifax! It was wonderful having such a diverse and amazing crowd all together under one roof, talking about what’s most important to them; early learning!

Thank you also to everyone for providing your feedback on our survey.  We’re happy to say that the majority of you felt the event was a big success -- and we did too!  We’ve combed through the results and wanted to share some highlights with all of you;

·       54% of you felt the event was Very Good, and an additional 33% ranked it as Excellent!

·       69% of you are Extremely Likely to attend the event if there is one again next year, and would also recommend it to your colleagues.

·       89% of you felt you received value for the conference fees.

·       92% of you felts the presentations were applicable to the current landscape of ECE in Atlantic Canada.

·       62% of you felt the length of the vent was Just the Right Length.

We had a lot of great feedback about what you liked most about the event!  The top favourites were 1) Breakout sessions; 2) Networking; and 3) The speakers.  (these were all of our favourites too!)

And we’ve taken note of the areas that many of you felt weren’t quite up to snuff, all of which we will take into account for the next event.  Some of the top concerns were 1) Accessing information about the conference/navigating during the conference; 2) Computer Lab being overbooked, overcrowded, and too hot; 3) Accommodations.

And we’ve heard your requests, next time around you’d like more breakout sessions!

We couldn’t be happier with the feedback and results, and we are motivated to start planning the 2nd Atlantic Institute soon!  We’ll keep you all posted as we work out the details and decide if it will be an annual event, or perhaps biennial, and then all of the ‘where’s’, ‘when’s’, and ‘how’s’.

Thank you again for your participation, and support!
